Middleton, Pennsylvania’s Rough Wear Clothing was awarded five contracts to manufacture the A-2 flight jacket for the U.S.A.A.F. This version was based off the second contract: 23380. Made of a vegetable tanned mustang hide, this jacket features a larger collar with a collar stand. The leather is made by soaking Italian raw hides in a tank with tannin extracted from bark. It is then finished with seal brown aniline dye. The result is a jacket that will improve with age and wear, unique to each owner.
